If we LOOK good and we FEEL good, are we HEALTHY?

In today’s culture many people base their health on how they look or how they are feeling. Many think that if we look healthy on the outside or if we are feeling good, then we must be healthy overall. The problem with this perspective is that it looks at health from the outside-in, and true health actually comes from the inside-out. Let us explain:

Health is actually defined as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and NOT merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

So, in order for us to be truly healthy our bodies need to be functioning and healing at 100%. This CANNOT happen without proper structure of our spine and nervous system. When our spine loses its proper structure the vertebrae fall out of place and put pressure on the spinal cord and the delicate nerve roots that pass between each vertebrae. This pressure causes interference in the nervous system, which can cause a variety of symptoms including pain and organ dysfunction. When this happens it is called spinal subluxation. Our job as chiropractors is to remove these subluxations, correct the structure of the spine, and allow the body to function and heal naturally.
